Consider, life’s unexpected disasters by ways of trials and tribulations.  Is your foundation rooted firmly in the ground and built with a solid durable material; like, bricks?   If you didn’t answer, “Yes” confidently, that it’s one built in the Word of God, then why not recover and rebuild before the storm hits?

When we don’t have a strong foundation- namely, life’s storms will tear us down to the ground.  It reminds me of an all-time favorite story, “The Three Little Pigs.”  All three pigs had one purpose- to build a house, to call home!  Surely, they had an advantage; they knew their enemy (wolf) well.  They knew the enemy’s traits, his tactics and motives.  They all knew he came to kill, steal and destroy!

One pig built his house on sticks and the other of straw.  Their homes came quick and easy to build and their ways were foolish.  They rushed the process in fulfilling their purpose, that they forgot one important element: God is never in a hurry, but HE’s always on time!  They were fearless in their own power; which, led them to boast.  However, adversity showed up and they trembled in fear.  And of course, their homes were swept away because of the poor foundation.

Meanwhile, the third brick-laying pig was serious, because focus is essential for accomplishing any goal.  He had one main objective- keep the enemy from destroying his sanctuary.  Distractions were near, as his brothers joked and played around; but, he remained committed to the very end.  He had no fear because he never wavered from his purpose.  He was alert and on guard for any of the wolf’s tactics.  Yes, the pig had instinct, he trusted it and was victorious!

Lesson Learned: It takes hard labor, sacrifice, obedience, determination and faith- to win with victory over the enemy!  Because, we can survive and live in fear like the first two pigs.  But, who wants to do that?
